Secure Zoo Strategy (SZS) is a guide to help facilities develop business continuity plans that address the unique needs of the exotic animal industry in Foreign Animal Disease (FAD) outbreaks. By following the steps as described in SZS, you will develop a facility emergency preparedness plan to address disease issues, specifically Foot-and-Mouth disease (FMD).  The goal is to work on plans along with State Animal Health Officials (SAHOs), who have authority to respond to FADs to protect animals and the nation’s food supply. If you think you have species that are susceptible to Foreign Animal Diseases (FADs), you need to learn more about Secure Zoo!
